Frequently Asked Questions
Why is USU making this change?
We recognize the time and effort departments have invested in their current processes. Moving reservations into a common system gives the university consistent information about how spaces are being used while allowing departments to retain their approval processes. It also ensures that appropriate teams have the information they need to plan for safety, staffing, facilities, parking, and other support when necessary.
Users gain clear visibility into reservation policies without needing to track down separate forms, emails, or phone numbers, and shared spaces are visible on one platform, enabling more information choices when reserving space.
Will this take scheduling decisions away from departments?
No. Departments will continue to approve use of their own spaces while giving the university a consistent source of information.
Won't this create more administrative work?
USU's goal is to decrease administrative work. Coursedog Events scheduling brings all the scheduling-related workflows together and automates many notifications and approvals, reducing the likelihood of missed information and helping ensure the right teams have the information they need.
