Academic Camps and Conferences

Aggie Aviation Adventure
At Aggie Aviation Adventure you will not only learn about aviation, you’ll actually fly in and have a chance to briefly be at the controls of one of our airplanes and a helicopter. Additionally, you will fly in our new 737 simulators and in our 3-axis motion small aircraft simulator, fly drones, work on a project in our aviation maintenance lab, see a jet engine run-up, build a chuck glider, and much more!

The price of the camp includes flights in the aircraft, all meals, sleeping accommodations, t-shirt, water bottle, drawstring bag and other swag, and all other materials and activities associated with the camp. Aggie Aviation Adventure is designed for youth ages 14-18. Youth can apply with the understanding that this adventure will be fast-paced and will include evening activities. This camp usually runs the first full week of June every year.

Biotech Academy
Biotech Academy
Biotechnology Summer Academy exposes high school students to the numerous career opportunities available in biotechnology. Students are mentored by USU faculty who work in various disciplines. The week’s activities include communication workshops, lectures and demonstrations, laboratory training, field trips, mentoring and research.

The program is an intensive five-day internship involving a biotechnology-related project. Faculty from several departments at Utah State University volunteer their time, talents and labs to teach students and involve them in current research.
Engineering State
Engineering State
A fun-filled 4-day summer camp for students entering their senior year of high school. Participants explore how engineering has changed our world and learn what earning a degree in engineering is all about. Many of our graduates have majored in engineering and now have successful, fulfilling careers.

Students should be between their junior and senior year of high school and have a strong interest in math, science and technology. Students must have at least a 3.0 GPA to attend. Space is limited so register soon.

Gear Up
USU STARS! GEAR UP summer camps offer students an immersive experience in a college environment. In addition to staying in campus dorms, most activities take place in classrooms, labs, and recreational areas on campus.

Each camp is designed specifically for USU STARS! GEAR UP to inspire learning, explore new ideas, and help students do better in school, while preparing for future education and career goals.

Camp activities are engaging and encourage teamwork. Students meet mentors and students from other schools. By the end of a camp, students leave having made new friends from across the state of Utah.
